Rev. Lyle Holland
Senior Pastor
Lyle is the founding pastor of the Church at Cahaba Bend. A graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville and Asbury Theological Seminary, and a native of Decatur, Alabama. An ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church since 1991, he served congregations in Florence, Toney, and Clay before being appointed in 2000 to start a new United Methodist Church. Lyle is husband to the former Linda Denton, and together they are parents of two teenagers, Maggie and Bennett.
Ben Williams
Worship Arts Leader
Ben Williams is a native of Sylacauga, AL, a graduate of the University of Alabama, a graphic designer by trade, a husband, a father, a life-long United Methodist, and a believer in Christ! Ben leads in the worship arts (music, visual arts, etc.) by encouraging others to worship!
On staff since Cahaba Bend's beginning, Ben guided the worship team from the simplicity of praise choruses accompanied by acoustic guitar in the pastor's living room, to current Sunday mornings with a full praise band in multiple services. In all worship settings, his and the worship team's goal is to provide a comfortable atmosphere in which people encounter Christ.
Zack Nichols
Director of Student Ministries
Zack Nichols was born in Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, AL and graduated from Samford University across the street. Needless to say, he loves his hometown. He is currently a graphic designer with a Christian resource company called Student Life and has been involved in student ministry in one way or another for several years.
As the newest staff member with Cahaba Bend, Zack is doing what he loves in serving with the Student Ministries as well as the worship team. He strongly believes in building a ministry with students helping other students instead of developing another "youth group." He works to use a discipleship model in hopes that Cahaba Bend Student Ministry can truly affect the community of Helena and point people directly to the cross.
Maggie Bell
Director of The Day School at Cahaba Bend
Maggie was born in Northport, AL. She was raised most of her life in the small town of Lincoln, AL. She is a graduate of Auburn University. Upon graduation she moved to Nashville, TN to pursue a career in Nutrition.
After getting married, she and husband Kevin moved several times with his job, then settled back in Alabama. While living in NC she began post grad work in Education and taught chemistry 2 years. After the birth of three sons, she wanted to use her education background and love for children to help open a Day School at her church home, CCB. Maggie is grateful to be able to serve our church and community in this way.
Kara Barr
Office Support Staff
Kara Barr, a native of Dora, Alabama, serves as Cahaba Bend's Administrative Assistant. She and her husband, Bobby have attended since 2004. Currently completing her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Montevallo, Kara enjoys working with the church family she loves at CCB.
